The freezer and refrigerator are both not as cool as they should be. There is a clicking noise, sort of loke a relay closing. hen the lights slightly dim like there is a heavy electrical load, along with a slight hum. This lasts for just a few seconds and the clicking sound repeats, but now the hum is gone, and the lights returned to normal.

Any ideas as to what has failed? This seems to have started just within the last week of so.

I have not yet tried to disassemble much except to know that the defrost cycle has seemed to have worked properly.

If the lights are dimmig , it's time to go shopping the compressor is pulling too many amps.

You might want to try to take the overload and relay off the compressor, and replace them with a hard start kit. The part # is RCO410.
