The door was slammed shut. Appeared to work fine until you tried to cook. Clock would set, cook time could be entered, lights work, but once you push start, it would trip the breaker. Upon looking inside, I found the center door switch had been knocked loose. I can't see where it mounts, so I wrapped it in tape so that the contact was always on and now the microwave works. How bad is this? Where does this switch mount?

I've also now noticed that the fan for the range hood does not work. Any ideas???

I found the service manual and it has decent pictures of how the switches mounts to the door latch, so I will try to see if the switch will go back where it belongs.

When I pull up the parts list, it shows this item is sold as a kit with the switch and a 20A fuse. The service manual says - The switch is intended to render the oven inoperative, by means of blowing the monitor fuse, when the contacts of the secondary interlock relay (RY2) and primary interlock switch fail to open when the door is opened. I will look and see if this fuse it blown, but I believe if that fuse were to blow, the microwave would not work at all until it was replaced. Also, the microwave shuts down properly when the door is open.

Still don't know why the fan quit working. It could be totally unrelated. We almost never use it because it is obnoxiously loud.
