My first post, thank you for any replies
I only know a little about driers..

Friends top loading drier is not working. Twice in the last 3 months it has cut out due to people NEVER emptying the fluff filter. One time it blew the fuse in the plug. One time it needed a new fuse in the plug, the other time the Rcd tripped-and it worked fine again

There is power to the programmer, and the on/off switch has continuity but no power.
There are two themal cuts out.One on the element , it has a pair of wires and continuity. The cut out on the the fan has two pairs of wires, blue and red. There is continuity across the blue pair , and continuity across the red pair.
Are ther any simple things esle I can look at?
many thanks Richard

Hi theome

There are two parts which I would check first. They are: the door switch (#10 on the cabinet parts break down diagram) and thermal fuse (#8 on the bulkhead break down diagram).

Good luck.
Gene.

Many thanks, what great service.
I did remove the bulkhead yesterday and part 8, thermal fuse was taped to one cable loom , no connections! So either its not required on the Uk model , or maybe has been replaced before..though why a blown part wasn't binned is a mystery. I wil go check the door switch today.

Bit more info.
The thermal fuse is present and has continuity.

The taped up item was a resistor? (Juria 10WO, 52 (ohm symbol)k
The door switch is also fine.
I think thats bout all I can do, unless you can think of anything.
I'm loathe to get a programmer, expensive. But we are 20 miles from nearest place an engineer Might come from.
Best wishes Richard
