I replaced the defrost timer and the freezer turned on right away. Over night the freezer went into defrost mode and never turned back on. What is my next troubleshooting step. The freezer is a Frigidaire about 10 years old and an upright. I do not know the model number? Please help and thank you all in advance.

A model number would help.

If you turn the timer cam can you get the ubnit to start up again?

You may have installed the defrost timer wrong.

With a felt tip pen mark the timer cam and the timer case or cover. Then you will be able to tell if the timer is rotating when in a defrost cycle.
