our dryer's drum seems not to be balanced. it moves up and down making a very loud scraping noise. the belt is fine but it rubs the front and back of dryer inside. is it the felt that needs repaired. thanks

Check the felt on the front & rear if it looks thin replace, also check your rollers.

yes the felt is very thin in the front. also just checked the front and the lip of the drum has shaved some of the metal off of the drum. will a new felt gasket fix this problem?

If it's too bad it's not going to help much or for very long. If it looks almost sharp your best bet would be replacement as the drum is rather expensive and usually has extra shipping charges.
