Here is your parts breakdown
Model GEW9868KQ3

Here is a tech sheet and a wiring diagram

Could be a number of things.

Undo the vent system and run a load if it dries good then the vent is the culprit. If worried about dust in the house take a pair of pantyhose, put one leg into the other and attach this to the exhaust. Leave enough room behind the dryer so this can blow out like a windsock.
Check the air flow out of the unit to make sure it is good and strong.
If air flow out is poor check the lint screen and the holes at the back of the drum. If you use excessive amounts of fabric softener, it can coat the screen drastically reducing air flow. Low air flow can also be a clogged or loose blower wheel.

Since you are getting heat there is a possibility you have a grounded element.
Put the unit in an air only cycle/mode, if you still get heat then odds are high that the element is touching the case/frame.

After that then you are onto the tech sheet checking the thermistor etc.
