First my icemaker quit making ice and then the frozen food started to thaw. I changed the icemaker before I found out that the food was thawing. What do I need to check next? The temperature setting on the frig is -5 and still not cooling well.
Thanks
Dave

Hi Dave,
Remove the rear cover and check if the compressor and the fan next to it are running. Clean the condenser coils.
Check if there is frost on the back panel in the freezer.
Post the results.
Gene.

Kenmore's are known for the relay going out on the compressor. See iof the compressor is running. If yopu don't know for sure, get a long screw driver, and put the blade end on top of the compressor, and then stick your ear on the butt end of the screw driver. You will hear a hum if it is working. Tom ApplianceEducator.com
