My refrigerator is leaking from its water filter encasement. I change the filter regularly and the current filter is only 3 months old....most of my filters last for at least 9 months...I looked some possible causes of my problem and most posts listed that I should replace the base of my water filter. Could there be any other reasons for the leak?

I had the same issue. I think they changed the quality of the products they use in the filter. Mine sprung a major leak which caused the temperature control to short out. If yours leaks make sure you unplug it and unscrew the unit to dry it properly.

grijalva006: Were you able to fix the problem ? How ?

My roommate just sent me an email about the leak from filter encasing when they use water dispenser outside. This is the first time it has happened since I owned this Frigidaire #PLHS269ZDB from mid 2006 and I have changed filters anywhere from 6-12 month interval.

I would appreciate if you can reply with your fix so I can figure out what I should be doing.
