Kitchen Aid dishwasher fuse kit (AP3178588 ) worked for half a cycle, then no power

I have had this Kitchen Aid Superba for 4 years and this is the first time I have had power issues. Last week, I opened the dishwasher to empty it and noticed it never finished the cycle, as it still had water in it. The control panel had no lights and seemed to have no power. I checked the circuit breaker and it was on. I ordered the fuse kit (AP3178588) and replaced it today, turned the circuitbreaker on and the diswasher resumed where it left off. I was physced. So I loaded it up tonight and ran it. To my disappointment, I am having the same issue. The cycle never completed as there is water still in the dishwasher and there is no power at the controls.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Mike

I think I know why this blew again from viewing some posts. I never cut the original wires and spliced on the wires that came with the fuse kit. I just disconnected the fuse harness from the dishwasher wires and connected the new fuse kit to it. I think I will buy a new fuse kit and follow the instructions:)
Thanks, Mike

I would check the heater circuit on this and the thermostat. If ok, try raising the water temperature to at least 130 degrees. For some reason, if the water temp. is too low,the heater will come on at the worst current draw time and blow the fuse. Last one I checked, the combined motor and heater current was under nine amps and believe the fuse blowes at 12 amps or more.Try to get an amprobe and check.

Thanks for the reply. I was able to identify the fuse as the culprit and have a new one on order.
Thanks again.

I have to ask. Was it because you did not splice in the new fuse like the instructions said? I have had the exact same problem. And, I did not splice in the new wires like the instructions said. Seemed odd when wires looked just fine. But you know Im a guy and why read directions.
