My dryer starts heating fine, then after 15 minutes it stops heating. I took off back panel and watched it and after it stops heating, it starts to glow(orange) for acouple seconds then stops. It does that untill the timer stops. My cloths dont dry very much. If I let it sit for 20 minutes or so and start it again it does the same thing all over again. It does this on all heat settings. Can it be saved?

Thanks

It sounds like either an ignitor or flame sensor problem. Post your model numbr off the dryer for more information.

Here's the breakdown Model RGX4634KQ2
Check to see if there's a lot of lint build up on flame sensor.

I checked and it seems to be clean. Can it be tested with a ohm reader? I tryed to test it and it read 0, like the other sensors i tested. Im new at using a ohm read so wasnt sure if it could be, but did it anyway. Like I said it heats up fine in the beginning then shuts off. Then when it trys to start up to heat again all I saw was a orange glow( the Ignitor right ) then after 2 or 3 seconds it shuts off. Does that till the timer go's off.

Check for amps on the ignitor if I remember correctly (which I don't always) it should read between 3 & 4 Ohms. Another common problems is the coils.

not sure how to test Ignitor. can the coils be tested, and how? and can it be the timer, and can that be tested, and if so how? thank you so much for you time and help. Im new at this testing stuff, but like to learn alittle bit, because everything is so much money now-a-days to buy new. rather just fix it.
