Hello to all,

I have a GE washer that will not advance thru the cycles. However you can manually set it and it will work only by manual manipulation.

As a novice I would guess the timer is the issue. It is expensive part and I saw some other posting about some kind of a switch that can cause these symptoms.

Please help I will be most appreciative.

Kindest regards,

This sounds very much like a timer issue.

Now here's a possible deal. Your GE machine is not a GE machine. It is made by Frigidaire and is pretty much identical to a Frigidaire model. Here is the timer for the Frigidaire model.

Part number: AP2108034
Part number: AP2108034

and here is the timer for your model.

Part number: AP2620106
Part number: AP2620106

What's the difference? About $55.00, that should be all. (views are different sides. Go to part to see all views)

Now those of us who respond on this site are not associated with APP and not part of their parts operations. What I suggest is that you call APP on Monday and see if they can confirm that the parts are identifical, or that if they are not they will allow you to return the Frigidaire made part if it does not match up to and is not the same.

I don't think that even if it were the wrong timer it will hurt your machine if you try to use it, but cannot guarantee that so if you do not want any risk then go with the GE part. If it does not fix your machine you can return it, see the returns policy for details and conditions.

Good luck, let us know what you do and how it turns out.
