Everyone

I just purchased a GE PEB2060SMSS to replace my JE1860SB microwave. It is built-in to my cabinet with the GE trim kit. The original kit is the JX1827SB kit. It includes the aesthetic stainless trim piece but also the simple sheet metal that mounts to the bottom of the microwave to support and lift it off the wood cabinet insides.

The new PEB2060SMSS is the exact same front dimensions and the JX1827SB trim works just fine. The issue I have found is the bottom of the microwave is slightly different. On one side only, the bottom in between the front and rear feet does not recess as it does on the other side (and on the original JE1860SB microwave). This puts the microwave unlevel by about 1/8". I cannot just shim up the other side to match as it goes too high in the cabinet.

Does anyone know if they sell just these sheet metal parts for these trim kits? The new trim kit is JX2027SMSS. They are $200 and I dont want or need the stainless trim front (which is the expensive part). Do these sell these a la carte anywhere?

2nd, I am going to attempt to modify the sheet metal base as it is thin. Just need to recess it about 1.8" over a 1.5" by 8" area. We shall see my success.

input wanted, thx.

I was wondering if you found an answer to your question. I have a similar situation except I have the 30" trim kit and I have not yet purchased the new microwave. I am open to any other brand that would work with the existing base and external trim kit. Most reviews I have seen do not rate the GE models very well. If GE, it does not need to be a Profile model. I did try the base of the trim kit on the JES2051 model. The feet went in the holes, but it was not exactly level. Maybe some shims would help. Again I wish to use the existing trim kit base and external front piece (JX1830SB). Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
