Here are your parts Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL LEC6848AW1 | AppliancePartsPros.comThe next step woulds be to replace the thermal cut-off. I am assuming you mean Item 9 in Section 3. You will notice that it comes with a new hi-limit thermostat. That is because the hi-limit should have opened so that the cut-off did not blow so it is assumed you will need one. This is not always true because a grounded element can cause the heater to run on high and the thermostats cannot regulate it. You have replaced the heater so that should not be a problem. I would still use the new high limit in any case, who knows could be your cycling thermostat's contacts are welded together. |

I would suggest checking the continuity with an ohm meter to determine which part has failed. The most likely cncdites are the heating element (which you repleced already, the limit switch and the thermostat. All should be accessible from the duct work in the back.
