We recently bought a barely used fridge. The previous owners assured us that it had worked fine for them, but it was too big for their new surroundings. When we plug it in, it runs fine, but it does not seem to be getting cold. We tried unplugging it for a bit a plugging it back in, and we put a bag of ice in it. It currently is about 44 degrees (which is better than the 65 is was last night). When it was up to 65 degrees it had been plugged in for 3 days.

The fridge is completely enclosed, so there are no exposed coils.

Any tips on how to engage the cooling system? Is there a way to reset the fridge to get it to start working again?

Thanks!

Remove the rear panel in the freezer section and see if there is a frost pattern on the coils.

Also make certain the compressor is actually running. It should be very warm to the touch with one of the copper lines warm and the other cold.

Post what you find.
