All my buttons on front of dishwasher for the cycles will not work. The only one that works is the cancel/drain button. When it first started the normal cycle gave me problems, then I had to use pot and pans. Now none work except for cancel/drain Can you tell me what it can be and is it worth fixing

This Model Number should have a numeral after it re:0, 1, 2 or 3
Needed to ensure you get the proper info.
Sounds like a bad keyboard or control board or connection between the two
Open the door up and remove the ribbon cable from the control board.
If it is the type that does not have a connector on the end (just the insulation is missing) clean the contacts with a pencil eraser. Do not use an ink eraser it is too abrasive. If the ribbon cable insulation is clear, check to see if there are any hairline cracks across the tracks. Also would not hurt to clean the connector on the board.
Connectors can be cleaned with some electronics cleaner (available at electronics and some hardware stores) or isopropyl alcohol (available at drug stores) and a tooth brush. Be gentle and make sure all the solvent evaporates before reconnecting.
Need the last digit to go any further with troubleshooting. |
