I have a FRIGIDAIRE FRT18IL6DS4 that just stopped working. Neither the fridge or freezer are cold. I am thinking it is the overload or relay switch on the compressor? Which part is at fault?

Can you hear the clicking sound from the compressor?

Tap on the temperature control knob. Did it start?

If it did, replace the temperature control.

If it did not, locate the defrost timer inside the control panel and manually turn the shaft CW for about 90°. Did it start?

If it did, replace the defrost timer.

Hi Gene - Thanks for the reply. When it is plugged in, the compressor makes no noise. I did not try to tap on the temperature control knob. I will try your sequene of events.

Matt
