led lights on clock do not work - oven heats.. do we need to replace the entire clock assembly or just the touchpad?

You'll need to replace the clock in order to fix the problem. Unfortunately, you'll need to replace the touch pad as well, because on this model the touch pad is actually not a functional part, just a sticker with labels (buttons) on it. If you try to stick the old touch pad on the new clock, it won't stay on very long. At least it's pretty cheap - about $13-$15.

Clock for your model (Your Kenmore range was made by GE by the way): Part Details - GE Clock, part number: AP2025145

Touch pad:
White: Part Details - GE Clock plate, part number: AP2632115
Black: Part Details - GE Clock plate, part number: AP2632114
