I have a Maytag LAT8234AAE topload washer that is full of water, but won't do anything. Red "on" light goes on when I pull the knob. No clog in drain hose. How do I troubleshoot this?

That's tricky. Depends on what style you have. Sometimes you can locate the connector under the control panel and bypass it. But, ...do not attempt this on your own without a schematic if it has more than 2 wires. if you hook the ground to the hot, ....you'll blow it. If it has only 2 wires, you can just hook them together. That will tell you if it's bad or not because if it works, you have just verified the problem.
