I have a new latch assembly ready to install in my Maytag dishwasher, but have to first unplug the old switches from the wired receptacle. Despite applying fairly intense pressure, the prongs on the switch seem to barely move. Is there a trick to disconnecting the old switches?

Ted,

Those wire connectors are"sure fit" terminal connectors,

You need to squeeze and pull,

Most people use a pair of needle nose pliers, or they pry them off with a 1/8" blade screwdriver.

You can also remove the switch from the assembly(mounted with plastic tabs and alignment pins) if it's easier for you.

:) :) :)
