Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 2/2/2011(UTC) Posts: 2		Hi, I purchased a refrigerator/freezer used about 3 months ago. I was told it was only about two years old and up to last night it had been working fine. GE brand Model # GSS25LSQA SS It is a side by side. At this time it appears that it is not cooling at all. Neither the refrigerator or freezer. All of our food was defrosting. There is no ice build up on the back of the unit, and the one time I checked, the compressor was cool to the touch. The Fan for the condenser assembly is working, but one thing that is also different is that the circulation fan or evaporator fan is constantly running. This is the fan that would turn off when either door was opened. It still functions with the door switches but we can hear it running non stop with them closed now. Please help.? Assuming the relay or starter to the compressor?

Suggestion to look for a burnt connection on the motherboard or circuit board, focusing on the largest of the 5 something relays that exist. Looking at the solder connection it had clearly burnt the solder off the back of the circuit board, allowing complete view of the terminal. A little dab of some solder with a soldering iron, re-installed the motherboard and good to go! :) Compressor kicked on and the refrigerator is back to normal. Yeah! P.S. Prior to removing the board, the largest relay was warm to the touch as if it had been constantly energized trying to activate the compressor. Makes sense.
