Marcie,

The easiest way to clean the inside of a dishwasher,

Use a citric acid based cleaner such as "Glisten" , "Dishwasher Magic", "Lime A Way" etc.

Make sure the water to the dishwasher is at least 120 dgrs when the tub is filling, follow the package instructions,

I use a slightly different procedure, Once the machine is full and washing, after 15 to 20 minutes, stop the machine(unlatch the door if necessary) and let the unit soak 20 to 30 minutes, then resume the cycle.
You may need to repeat the process, depending on the build up in the tub and pump.

You may be happier with this procedure, than dismantling the machine, soaking the components, and hand cleaning the parts.

:) :) :)
