I tried to wash the seat cushion of my walker and I broke the door lock in the attempt. Door came flying open and the lock will not engage. (Machine will run if I close door very hard and physically hold door into place with pressure). I think the "hook" that the door latch clicks into broke off in the door lock. The latch is okay (but loose - I am sure nothing a screwdriver won't fix). I can't afford to have a tech come out to fix it so I would like to try to replace myself. I have good tools and patience. I know I can order the part from Sears Direct but need "install for dummies" step by step. Also, during this same incident the rubber sheet that covers the piece on the gasket where the concave glass fits into the door (door hinge side) came unsealed on the interior side. Should I just super glue back over the piece? That's my guess, just not 100% sure. Any help greatly appreicated.

Here's a manual that will help with the repairs to the door latch and the bellows (which is the ruber part between the fron panel and the tub.
The is the latch Part Details - WHIRLPOOL Door strike, part number: 8181651
This is the lock Part Details - WHIRLPOOL Door lock, part number: 8182634

You may also need new clamps for the bellows.

I just wanted you to know that I successfully fixed the lock with your help. I couldn't have done it without the manual. Removing the broken lock was easy and reinstalling the lock itself was a piece of cake. The challenge came trying to get the rubber gasket to fit correctly back onto the lip of the front panel of the machine and getting the spring ring and the gasket to get in place together. Quite a challenge indeed! I finally used some industrial strength double-sided tape to adhere the rubber in place and then, with effort got the metal ring back in place. Once again, THANK YOU! If I couldn't have done it myself I would have had to do without a washer for quite a while and probably would have been out $150 - $200 instead of the $48 I spent. It will take me a while to catch up on laundry but I am very appreciative.
