I replaced the coils again 2 days ago, but still smelling gas. I've just order a burner assembly. I will install it when it arrives and will update you all on the results.

I have received and installed the burner assembly last Saturday, and it works great - no more gas smells.

I ask b/c if you have been doing any painting/staining, especially with oil-based products, it can cause a kerosene smell to come from the dryer. You mentioned it happens intermittently- can you think if it has happened when you've been doing a project like this, even on another floor of the home?

It is not a leak and will go away when the air is cleared. Just ventilate the area as best you can.

HTH.

JRW is right, and this is likely something that does not require any repair. Open the windows and ventilate the dryer area and then see. You might have gotten some oil in your clothes and it's being manifested throughout the dryer cycle
