We bought a stainless side by side fridge with icemaker and water dispenser in door about a week or so ago. It was never used before. The prior people bought it for a rental and decided to make the home into a single family unit. It was sitting in their home unused for almost a year. We brought it home, took off all the stickers, etc. and let it sit in the garage overnight. Took it in the next morning and let it sit after moving it inside for a couple hours. Since we plugged it in, it makes a very irritating high pitched squeeking noise when it kicks in. Does it need to be oiled or something because of sitting for so long? I called the company and they said high energy efficiency models do this. I find this hard to believe, because it is so annoying! They previous owners don't have the receipts any longer and it's almost a year old. Any suggestions?

Can you verify where the noise comes from, freezer section, compressor, condenser fan etc

The noise is not coming from the freezer. It seems to be either from the fan or compressor. It only happens when something kicks in. If we open the door or the fridge is bumped, it stops for a bit, and then you can hear a fan or something start running again and the noise continues.
