My washer tub stopped spinning, so I checked underneath and the belt was broken. I ordered a new belt and replaced it, but the belt does not turn with the motor wheel. The motor turns fine, but it does not turn the belt. the Idler mechanism seems to be doing its job just fine. I manually tried turning the belt and it was hard to turn. I can't see anything else wrong. The tub is just hard to turn. I can turn it until the tub turns about one half rotation, and then it gets real hard. What can I do? Am I in for a new washer:( ?
Thanks much,
Sean

I think something is hung up in the transmission, and given the age of this machine I think a new one is in order.
