The refrigerated side of our refrigerator is too cold. We have it turned down to "1" and things will freeze if they are in the back of the fridge, in the crisper drawers, and on the shelf above the meet drawer. Vegetables are especially prone to freezing - lettuce, carrots, cucumbers, etc. I can not keep vegetables in the fridge without them getting ruined in a day or two. We took the panel off and cleaned all of the coils and under the refrigerator and it did not help. The freezer is set on 3. I have 10 people coming here for the holidays and a fridge that can't hold food - please help!!
Thank you.

This part will fix it--->Part Details - GE Damper assembly, fresh food inlet cover kit, part number: WR49X10091 What you have is a damper door that is broken at the hinge allowing cold air to pour into the freshfood section all the time, thus freezing everything. In the mean time, you can remove the light shield in the freshfood section, and behind the rear light is a square hole for air to pass through. Tape that hole closed, then punch a few small holes in the tape. This will restrict the air enough to stop the freezing till you get the repair done. Put the light cover back on.

The crisper drawer will still freeze even after you do what I said about the tape until you replace the part, so best not to keep anything in there till then
