We are renting a house with an old Roper oven. The landlord is not interested in fixing it at this time.

The oven takes forever to get hot. the ignitor lights and there is a flame. it just seems that the flame is not great enough to raise the temp of the oven quick enough. it takes forever to get up to temp and will not broil. it takes about an hour to get up to 350 and that is with setting the temp dial at 550. Once heated, it looses its heat rapidly if the oven door is opened to insert food and takes a long time to get back up to temp. this is a very old unit. any suggestions?

I have the exact same problem. My oven is over 45 years old and still rather clean. It will not go over 350. I'll keep posting and searching till I figure this out.
