The bottom element in my old Hotpoint electric oven literally broke in two. Is it easy enough for a nonskilled person (that would be me) to replace? Do I just unscrew those two screws at the sides of the element (after turning off the power)?
Also, when I search for the replacement part by model number, I cannot find the model. Perhaps it is just "D2" after the basic RB737?

If you call a parts house and they say it is no long available, take it in, and they can match it up. Or, you can give them the dimentions, and they can match it up. Tom ApplianceEducator.com

You're right kgmc. Your model is listed as RB737*D2. Your bake element is good in stock. It's number 650 on the parts list - Model RB737*D2

by that picture, it looks like the old standard ge bake element. Did you have to look that up on the micro fish? Appreciate the help. Tom

No, it's right on our site: Model RB737*D2We hardly ever use microfiche anymore (although I still remember the "good old days" :) ). If you have to look something up on a microfiche, chances are the part will come up as NLA (no longer available).
