when i got my new heating element from appliance parts pros,it did not look like the old one.the new part number is 503978 and the old one is 56047.the old part has round insolators that you hook the wires to, the new one do not.what should i do? how do hook the new one up ?

I am not sure about how your old heater connects so am assuming that the wires attach to screw type connectors.

I do not work for AppliancePartsPros so do not have access to all the parts data that they have but when I search your old part number I come up with the following.
Part number: AP4072871
Part number: AP4072871

It looks like a kit with the connectors to attach to the heater, perhaps this is what you require.
