My washer does not agitate or spin but adds water and drains it fine. When I open the front panel and (with the aid of a friend) manually spin the belt and the agitator simultaneously, the machine starts working again, but it emits a burning smell. I'm trying to figure out if this is cause by a faulty motor or something less expensive to repair. Shopped online and the price of the motor is over $300. If it is the motor, I'm going to bite the bullet and buy a new washer. Any help, advice, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
