I recently had the bake element short out on my maytag per43108 electric range. Everything else still works, (the clock, burners, broil element, etc). I replaced the bottom bake element and it still does not heat up. I checked the wiring and didnt find any defective wires. Any ideas as to why it wont work? Thanks

I cannot find info on the given model number.
Please check it perhaps is is a 4310B not 8

Following are parts for a 4310B, includes a wiring diagram.

Sounds like your thermostat (item 14 in Section 2) is shot.
Not uncommon for them to go after a dead short.
It shows two of them and I do not know the difference so have your full model number and serial number if you call AppliancePartsPros and hopefully they can get you the correct one.
