I need to replace the On/Off Power button & switch which is located on the top edge of the door. What is the correct method to disassemble the door to replace the button and switch? I would rather not remove the inside panel if I don't have to. Thanks for your help. Cheers.

I have the same problem with the power switch. I took off the plastic cover for the controls and the outside panel. I see the switch and was able to release it from the mounting..However I don't see how to get it out of the space it is in. It has a rod going to the center door latch and a plunger that pushes the on/off switch. there must be some trick to remove the switch from the machine to replace it. If you know how please email me at kidcarr.jr@verizon.net Thank you...

many different models and several different procedures... Integrated models with controls on the top are different from d/w's with controls on the front ... definitely need torx t-20 screwdriver... door panel comes off readily easy (3 lowest screws, on either side starting closest to the hinge , working your way up ... after that it is just a matter of taking control panel off , manipulate metal tab to remove on/off switch ... kawfeeman@hotmail.com

SOLVED- BOSCH- R/R Fascia to Access Power button ON TOP OF DOOR Model Number: SHY56A05UC/14 Brand: Bosch Read Gene's description here: bosch dishwasher (from page 1 of this thread). His instructions apply to this model as well and are EXCELLENT. Thank you Gene! Note: The first six T-20 screws in his instructions are the LOWER three on each side inside the door which face the rear of the unit. The second six T-20 screws will be the six which remain on the top half of the door. You will need to separate the plastic fascia panel from the console support structure by removing the 4 broad-head T-20 screws which are visible after you remove the console/fascia assembly from the door. Page 26 of this by Chriscw: http://www.cteq.ca/Doc_texte/DishwasherTraining bosch.pdf will give pictures. Thanks to Chriscw and Gene

Thanks to Chriscw and Gene Island Greco - I have this exact same problem, but can't find either the post from Gene or from Chriscw to help with my replacement of the on/off push button. Any help will be appreciated. Scott
