My Hotpoint CSX22D side by side refrig doors do not stay closed. If you
push them shut (both frig and freezer) they will usally stay shut. However if you let them close without a push they stay open about 1 inch. Sometimes they will pop back open after they have been shut all the way.

The door on the frig appears to be not straight up and down, rather it appears to stick out a little at the bottom. Also the door seal is bulged at the bottom.

Is this a hinge problem or do I need a new seal (Or both?). What should I do to fix this problem.

Thankyou for the help and advise.

Most likely both bottom hinges have to be replaced. Each hinge comes with the cam riser which has to be installed on the bottom of the door instead of the old one.

After the hinges replaced, check the door gasket by putting a dollar bill between the gasket and the frame. If the bill stays firm then there is nothing wrong and the door sealed properly.

- The part number for the door hinge (they are identical) is AP2635796

- The part number for the fresh food door gasket is AP2068143

Here are the break down diagrams for the Hotpoint refrigerator Model CSX22DHB
