I have a Maytag Gas Dryer model # LDG7500AAL that runs hot till i shut it off.Now my question is this. if i just replaced the vent hose and it's about 7 feet long wrapped around in back would this prevent the dryer from shutting down automatically. If so would it make sence to cut that hose in back and see what happens? Is it too long?

Very likely the dryer is cycling on the high limit thermostat instead of the cycling thermostat. This is very common situation happened due to restricted airflow.

The vent hose should be kept as short as possible and should not be bend in any way. Also make sure the vent outlet is working properly.

You can disconnect the vent hose from the dryer and run it without the hose for one cycle.
