I think I may already know the answer, but, am I wasting my time and money trying to replace 3 of the 4 burners and recepticles on a Kenmore freestanding elect. range purchased in 1995? 1 or 2 burner recepticles and a relay(?) or resistor(?) was replaced under warranty when it was sort of new, and they started to go again a few yrs later. One recepticle even exploded. Yes, my wife used to unplug and plug in the burners too often for cleaning. There is a little bit of rust/hole under 2 of the burners. Should I assume it won't be cost effective? Thanks.

UPDATE
I found the model #

Yes I think it may be at the end of it's life.
I looked at the Sears parts site.
The elements will rum you about $30.00 each.
If you need new clips that hold the element receptacles they are about $3.00 each.

The problem is the receptacles.
They show a wiring harness with ballcocks (I think this is a typo and it should be blocks) but it does not look like it is available.
They also show a terminal block at about $40.00 each but it looks like this is just the connectors and does not include the ceramic blocks.

Probably time to replace the unit.

Thanks. I saw those parts also and was equally confused. I see you have a generic recepticle kit, Part Number: AP3075808, since it says for 'most' stoves, mine probably isn't included?

It would be best that you call the parts people perhaps they can help.
I do not work for AppliancePartsPros, I just volunteer here in an attempt to help a few DIYers.
