I did several loads of wash today but then I noticed the washer making a different sound. I checked - in the rinse cycle, the water drained from the washer but the basket was not spinning. It agitated but didn't spin.
Last Sat. my husband changed the belt because the washer was making terrible clunking sounds when it started agitating and also on the spin cycle. The noise stopped after he replaced the belt. We thought that was it.

Any help on this? Is it the transmission as my husband suspects?

Thanks.

Aloha,
Myra

Pull front panel and check for water leaking from the tub, if ok and belt isn't burnt, you probably need a new thrust bearing and pulley kit available by clicking on your model # above. Go to Appliance repairs, Appliancehelp, Appliances, repairs to dryers washers dishwashers fridges repairs microwaves ge maytag kenmore frigidaire westinghouse inglis, appliance how to take apart information, purchasing an appliance help, model number help, for repair info.

Thank you for the info. I'll print this out and leave it for my husband to followup on.
