how can i find out how old this dryer is? it makes horrible noise and I don't know if it is worth putting more money into it to fix it... thanks!

I cannot tell you how old it is but I do not think that matters.
If you look through the parts listing you will see that many of the parts are obsolete.
I would not put many dollars into it because if one of the obsolete parts goes in the near future then the unit will be un-repairable.

If you can figure out where the noise is coming from and do the work yourself and the required parts are not too expensive then it may be worth fixing.

The newer units will not be built as good as this unit and will not last as long.
