First post: The gas flame "fires" for anywhere from 2 - 5 minutes, then cuts off. The flame will not re-light at all unless I shut the unit off and re-start it. The dryer is running in "timed" mode. In "auto-dry" mode the flame will not light at all. I'm a newbie at this--all I've ever needed to do is replace the drive belt.

Replace the coils on the gas valve. The secondary coil is bad. The coil kit comes with both of them. Tom Appliance Educator, Appliance Parts, Washer and Dryer Parts, Refridgerator and Freezer Parts, Stove and Oven Parts
