I recently replaced the controller board in my Hotpoint fridge. The new board is configured slightly different which is explained as normal in the accompanying instructions. The new board has a green wire which is labled continuity tester that runs from the top to bottom of the board and is connected via male and female connectors ( i.e. assembled for possible removal). The top connector has a second wire attached with an open circular connector crimped to the open end. The instructions mention nothing about these wires. Is this extra wire a ground which should connect to one of the sheetmetal cover screws? The old board did not have these wires. The unit runs fine wheter the wire is attached or not. Thank you for any advise.
