 How do you check controls to see if they are bad. I have continuity going to elements fuses and thermostat but no heat just cold air. Was told that you have to trace the wires back to see where the problem is. Could this be the timer or the control button you push to select if you want regular or medium, ect? I would do this if someone could walk me thru it. Please help

Here are your parts includes a wiring diagram
Replacement parts for MAYTAG MLE2000AYW STACKED LAUNDRY- ELE | AppliancePartsPros.com

First thing I would check is power to the unit.
The dryer element requires the full 240 volts while the motors, timer etc run off of one side of the leg, 120 volts.

Try flipping the breaker off/on slowly a couple times, sometimes you can loose half the line without actually tripping the breaker.
If this does nothing, check the voltage at the plug
L1 to L2 should be 240 volts
L1 to Neutral and L2 to Neutral, both should be 120 volts.
If OK
Unplug the unit and check the wires at the terminal strip in the machine to make sure none are loose or burned out
If OK
Check the power at the terminal strip.
Be careful as 240 volts is lethal !!!

Also when checking for continuity use a sensitive meter scale and disconnect one side of the device you are measuring. This prevents you from reading an alternate/parallel circuit path.

The following should help.
