My question is my front loader is making a loud grinding noise when it is in the spin cycle and still makes a similar grinding when the unit is empty and I am spinning it by hand. there seems to be a lot of movement in the tub as far as side to side and front to back. I need some help diagnosing the issue if there is anything that I can look for within my machine to help lead me in the right direction that would be a wonderful help. thanks in advance.

it's junk buy a new one you're looking at around 500 to fix it.This is a repair even an experienced technician hates doing it because the back half of the outer tub needs replaced and probably the inner basket as the tub support is more than likely cracked and you have to buy the inner tub because the support isn't sold separatly and you can buy a new machine for around 650

v2K04 is right on. We servicers hate this involved repair as there are too many unknowns and too labor intensive compared to what it's worth. Just make sure it is the main bearings where the noise is coming from.

Not so much with that machine as it was invented long before HE Detergent was That design is a Frigidaire and it has been around for 30 or more years In Fact a little trivia Frigidaire Pioneered the front loader in the U.S.

If you had used He soap it would have HELPED!!!! The BIGGESTcause of rear bearing failure in ANY front loader is the wrong soap, and using to much of it, You should use NO MORE THAN 1/4 cap MAX!!!!!!!! Think of it this way: A TOP load washer uses 20-24 GALLONS for the wash and the same amount for the rinse, A Front loader washes with LESS than 5gallons for the wash!!!!!!!! DON'T use REGULAR SOAP IN AN HE MACHINE!!!!!!!!!PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

I know thats what it says in the manual, But, look at the amount of failures of rear bearings in ALL Front loaders at the 3-5 year old mark, And look at the percentage of those that are using REGULAR SOAP!!!! Having dealt with Frigidaire for more than 26 years(doing warrantee service) I can tell you that Regular soap will wipe out a rear bearing MORE than TWICE as FAST as He soap will. NOW, You can use either, BUT,I know which one the SMART people use!!!!:D
