Initial problem low ice production / temps moving up /ran all the time.

Yesterday cleaned coils. Cleaned condensate drain tube / trap. Noticed pan dry. Manually moved defrost timer forward till defrost started & completed (water in pan). Temps came down (40 & 0). However, continues to run all the time and temps moving even lower. Has not stopped running. Settings are per initial setting in manual - C for freezer and 5 for frig.

How often should defrost cycle occur? Pan dry today. Think I have a defrost problem or temp control prob? Suggestions? Thanks.

Enviroment - house 74 & lower day / 70 at night.

Vrocrider,

Sounds like the defrost timer is bad. Timer's job is to stop the compressor and turn the defrost cycle on. This happens every 6 hours. When you manually turned the timer, the defrost cycle started and looks like the rest of the defrost system is working fine. Replace the timer.

Defrost timer for your model.
