GE Side by Side Refrigerator Evaporator fan started to whine and speed up and down, then it just stopped. Found your site and performed motor tests and found no voltage from the yellow wire on the board to the fan. Jumped out red to yellow and the DC fan came on high speed. Ordered the new board and left the refrigerator jumped out. It works good and maintains temp.
The new board (WR55X10942) arrived from GEapplianceparts.com and was installed. It did nothing. It did not try to start the compressor, or the fans. Tried to change dial settings for the fridge and freezer, and then heard a relay start clincking on and off on the board. It continued over and over. The relay is the small relay next to the large relay. It was not any of the relays in the group of 3. I think it is K4.
I rechecked all of the connections and nothing worked. I reinstalled my original board and the compressor started right up. I reinstalled the jumper from red to yellow to get the evap fan running, and now I don't know what to do.
Is this a bad board? My model did not show up under the ENCODER models, so I did not eliminate the thermister wire.
Please help, Jacob

GE has made sure that any motor failing will destroy the related driver in the motherboard, just used cheap drivers. ALWAYS, replace any defective motor when you replace the motherboard. Now you probably need both items.
