My dryer has stopped heating. I just replaced the thermal fuse, but it was not the problem. I used a digital meter and tested all connectors. They all showed activity but the heating element. I am not sure if I am testing continuity correctly though. I placed on the 200 on the ohms section. When I thouched the thermastat it showed .4. Thanks

Here are your parts Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL GEW9200LL1 Electric Dryer | AppliancePartsPros.comSounds like you are testing the parts correctly and the heater is shot. If the heater was good it should measure about 10 ohms. A couple points when measuring ohms. 1. Remove the connection/wire to at least one side of any part you are measuring. This prevents you from reading an alternate/parallel circuit path. 2. When you start it is a good idea to short the meter leads together. This shows that the meter actually works and if there is a 0 offset. |
