:confused:6 year old side-by-side GE. Ice builds up on coils. I replaced two parts but this did not work. So now I am thinking the control board and/or defrost heater. What is strange (or maybe not) is when I open the freezer door the fan goes on. When I close it, it goes off. When I open it again the fan does not go on right away but in a second or so. Is this normal? Maybe I did not pay attention in the past but now that I have problems I am. I have defrosted a few times with a steamer and in 3 to 5 days I have coils with ice. Any thoughts about the fan going on when I open the door and off when I close it? thanks.
