I just discovered that my old Maytag has a major leak. I was just starting to fill the machine and the water immediately began to drain out the bottom of the machine! :eek: All over my carpet! Luckily there's a drain hole under the carpet!
I called the repair man but he is backed up & won't be able to come & look at it until who knows when! :mad:
I'd like to fix it myself, if possible. What are the most common things to check for with a seriously leaking Maytag A9200?:confused:

What are the most common things to check for with a seriously leaking Maytag A9200?:confused: Heidi, I guess you don't know where it's leaking from, Remove the front panel, ( 2 phillips head screws, one on each side of the front, approximately 3 inches off the floor,swing the front panel out from the bottom, and it will unhinge from the top). Start the washer, and look for the leak to occur, and a location, *** DO NOT reach inside the cabinet, you could get hurt or shocked *** Then we can go from there, Will keep an eye out for your response. :) :) :)

It seems to be leaking from the connection that's right under the Tub. The water drips on to the thing called the "Trans Dee" in the diagrams.
It seems to leak more on the Extra Large load & a little less on Medium loads.

I'm wondering if I will need a new Washer.....

No need to replace the washer. All you need is to replace the tub seal. Possibly, also, the bearing (depending on how long it's been leaking. A competant servicer can do the job in about an hour.

~ Heidi Heidi, I had a feeling it was the tub bearing, tub seal assembly. Like Magician , I would repair the machine, personally. But I'm biassed. Good Luck, Happy Holidays, :) :) :)
