i replaced a faulty broiler igniter and now the broiler works, however, the broiler goes on all the time. ie-set to 350 bake broiler lights. anyone know what i did wrong?

Does it stay on AFTER the preheat time?

i left it on about 10 minutes give or take. you think it would go off if i leave on longer? only thing is it the lower over doesn't do that.

In a PREHEAT cycle, both burners come on, to shorten the time it takes to reach the set temperature. Then the broiler normally turns off and stays off. If yours isn't working that way, something is wrong. Give it enough time to see what it's doing.

thanks magician. i had typo in last post. meant to say lower oven doesn't do it.
