Dryer runs 10 minutes and than stops if you restart it a buzz sound from button and is drawing power lightes dim in room but wont start if i wait 30 minutes it will run again , tumbles, heats and turns off. I checked the olms at the elament and are good. I think Im having a motor problem it gets loud before it stops. The drum bearing is fine. How do i check if the motor is good? Any ideas what else it could be Thanks Kenmore mod 110.60852990

A model number may be helpful.

I think you pretty well have checked it and the motor is toast.
The heating element will not cause the unit to shut off.
The motor is over heating. It has a self resetting internal thermal protect. That is why you have to wait for the motor to cool down before it will start again.
Sounds like the drum turns fine so all that is left is the motor.

Cannot say without a model number but perhaps you can find a unit that looks like yours et the below link and get the some tips that way.

Also if you search Yahoo for dryer repairs there are quite a few videos.

Thank you for all the help, I replaced the motor and belt and it works fine now,if I were to do it again I would replace the blower cage at the same time, as you said in one of the forums it was welded on and it cracked when I removed. Thank you for the help and great price on the parts

You are welcome.

Happy New Year

And thanks for getting back to us. Now when others search for a similar problem they will see what actually worked instead of just suggestions about what could be the cause.

Giving people the video link and parts pictures was great. I have used these sites before and yours is by far the best. Thanks again.
