My Amana fridge / bottom freezer got the freezer door off track a little but after about 2 weeks, I got it realigned where the suction was regained but when it was off, it started making a click and then a motor running noise and then would go off after about 10 seconds or so. It is increasing in frequensy and now it seems like it is loosing it cooling power by the looks of the contince of it. I have not been able to use a thermostat in it yet but the fridge part shows no signs of problems.

Here are your parts

Sounds like a problem with the start/overload relay (Item 10 in Section 2)

Check that the condenser/compressor fan is running.
Compressor may not be getting any cooling.
Also a good idea to clean the condenser coils.

The problem can also be caused by a compressor going bad.
Below are a couple links on how to check the compressor and start relay.
Often though people just replace the start relay to see if it is the problem.

Ok, so basically you are saying that the freezer door was not shutting, and your refrigerator was trying to cool down the house!!!!! So, you also metioned a motor noice, so you probably have a moisture build-up, maybe ice on the blade. Your compressor, is probably hot as a pistol, because it has been running for the last 2 weeks to cool the house down. LOL!!! You can either shut the box down for 24 hours with the doors open, to cool down the compressor, and get rid of any ice in the freezer behind the back wall. OR, you can pull the refrigerator out, and take the back panel off, and put a fan back there to cool off the compressor, and then take the back panel off the freezer, and get the ole blow dryer to it!!
