Oven does not work so I installed a new igniter (round style) and the oven will still not light. I am confused on what to search for next. Any suggestions????

Remove the wires from the gas safety valve and check for continuity across its terminals.

If there is continuity, replace the oven thermostat.

If there is no continuity, replace the gas safety valve.

- The oven thermostat Part number: AP2623073

Thank your for the response Gene, my only other question is how difficult is it to change either part depending on whatever part it may be.

I still kind of have questions so I want to explain exactly whats going on. I replaced the igniter like I said and nothing happened. I checked for continuity like you said to, and I have it. Now like you said it is the thermostat, but im confused of why it would be the thermostat. I'm questioning my own thought because when I turn the oven knob on to 200 or any temperature, I get power to the source at the glow plug so im confused of why it won't ignite. My thought is that if there is a source of power why wouldn't the 110 volts ignite the igniter. I could be wrong but I wanted to ask someone like you who knows.

If there is proper voltage to the igniter and the igniter does not glow then there is something wrong with the igniter itself. Disconnect the igniter and check it for continuity.

What is the part number of the igniter you installed?

The igniter number - GR403. I will check the continuity of the igniter and respond back.

Thanks,
Ryan

Gene,
I installed a new thermostat. I have just installed the third new igniter. I am recieving 120 volts of power when i turn the oven knob but the igniter still will not ignite. Every igniter i bought I checked for continuity and they all varried in readings. Even though all 3 igniters were the same. I was wondering what you think it could still be.

Thanks in advance
Ryan

Ryan,

Can you explain step by step how did you measure the voltage to the igniter?

Gene.
